JOLIET, IL — Joliet police arrested a 34-year-old man from Woodridge this week at the Hollywood Casino Hotel after officers say the angry intoxicated man kicked officers trying to arrest him following a disturbance. Michael D. Wallace was booked into the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and criminal trespass to property. The incident that led to Wallace's arrest happened Monday around 3:05 a.m. at 777 Hollywood Boulevard, the Joliet casino's hotel. Police were notified that an intoxicated angry man was causing a disturbance, police reports state. "It was determined that Wallace became upset after being told he was unable to rent a room due to room unavailability," Joliet police said. "Officers learned that casino staff requested that Wallace leave the property multiple times to which he refused." After Joliet officers asked him to leave, Wallace refused to do so, police said. "Officers were able to place him into custody after a brief struggle," according to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English. "Wallace kicked officers while they were attempting to place him in the back of the squad car. Wallace was transported to the Joliet Police Department, where he was uncooperative with the booking process and was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility."
