DUBLIN, CA — Local nonprofit Dublin Arts Collective is teaming up with the F. CO. Gallery to bring Dublin its first Scary Art Show. The show will feature mediums such as sculptures, ceramics, paintings and photography from Oct. 14 to 31, organizers said in a statement. Rhythmic Innovation's Phil Didlake will be on hand to give a pan-drumming performance at the show's opening reception Oct. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. Poets are sought by Dublin Poet Laureate James Morehead and must apply by Oct. 8. "We're looking for scary, creepy, spooky, unsettling art! Artwork on show will be hair-raising, humorous, or 'deadly' serious," organizers said. Guests are invited to wear a costume to the opening reception and compete for a prize. Judges will include Mayor Melissa Hernandez and Visit Tri-Valley CEO Tracy Farhad. In an effort to prevent spread of COVID-19, opening reception guests must be fully vaccinated and symptom-free, organizers said. Children are not allowed.
