UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The man accused of hitting actor Lisa Banes with an electric scooter and fleeing the scene entered a plea of not guilty this week, court records show.
Brian Boyd, an Upper West Side resident, allegedly struck Banes in a crosswalk on June 4 and fled the scene. Banes, 65, died 10 days later.
Boyd's next court appearance is a trial on December 8 in front of Judge Gregory Carro.
Boyd faces charges of second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident without reporting, failure to yield to a person with the right of way - physical injury, and failure of a driver to exercise due care - serious physical injury. He was indicted Monday by a New York County Supreme Court grand jury.
