AGOURA HILLS, CA — The City of Agoura Hills is teaming up with the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station for a share the road campaign to promote bicyclist's safety. 846 bicyclists died in traffic incidents in 2019, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Many of these deaths could have been avoided, the administration said, with proper precautions and rule following from both bicyclists and motorists. Throughout October, the station said, Agoura Hills will see increased motor deputies making traffic stops to keep motorists aware of bicyclists. .@CityAgouraHills is working with @LHSLASD on a #SharetheRoad w/cyclists' campaign. (@LHSLASD) September 29, 2021 "Remember our community of cyclists are your mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, friends and neighbors," the station wrote on in a Facebook post. The campaign is part of a statewide traffic safety campaign called Go Safely California, sponsored by the California Office of Traffic Safety. The office has shared a number of educational fact sheets and videos about distracted driving, pedestrian and bicycle safety and impaired driving on the campaign's website.
