Satellite technician We are currently looking for a full-time satellite technician to join our team. Our shop specializes in satellite installations and maintenance weather it be a Cable system providing video or a VSAT serving internet. Our Job take us all over the state of Alaska so willingness to travel is a must. We are looking for someone with experience installing and working with general tools found in the construction trade and some basic network knowledge. Having a drivers license is also a must have. We provide commercial installs and maintenance on satellite systems where attention to detail and fallowing good practices are expected. Requirements • Cable installation and wiring on commercial platforms and work vessels. • Professional appearance, performance and attitude • The desire to work with a team and alone • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing • Perform site surveys in order to obtain the information necessary to develop project documentation • Common safety practices and proper use of protective equipment • The use of hand and power tools commonly used in the construction trade. • Understanding and following directions. • Investigate customer issues and design appropriate solutions • Maintains proficiency in all areas, and obtains annual certifications as required • Critical thinking • Drivers license • Experience with installation work/ cable systems • Vsat experience is a plus • Familiarity with electronic components • experience using hand tools All technicians must have: Ability to stand for long periods of time on ladders, crawl into small spaces, work in all climates and put in long days.
