Transition House Shelter Operations Weekend OVERNIGHT Shift (PT)
Saturdays and Sundays,12:00am-8:00am (16 hours/week - with the potential for additional hours / coverage requests)
What We Do:
Transition House is dedicated to the solution of family homelessness in the Santa Barbara community. We offer emergency shelter and structured case management to families with children.
Responsibilities of Overnight Shelter Operations Staff include:
- Monitor and enforce shelter rules
- Maintain friendly and professional relationships with residents
- Aid residents within the scope of the shelter staff description.
- Routine housekeeping and custodial tasks in compliance with health and safety
- Simple meal prep for sack lunches and continental style breakfast
- Conduct regular rounds of shelter
- Observe and report notable activities and maintenance needs in electronic communication log
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Email and computer experience (will train if necessary)
Must have COVID-19 vaccine
Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience working in residential setting, group home, or shelter (preferred but not required)
