Steel fabricating shop in Lakeside is looking for a shipping and receiving person. Must have experience and be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be self-motivated and be able to multi-task. Responsibilities and Duties: Receive and direct all offloading of materials shipped in. Thoroughly inspect all material and confirm material and shipping tickets match purchase orders. Mark job numbers, purchase order number, and heat number on received steel materials. Store received materials on racks or stage as shop space allows. Tag all stored materials as applicable. Keep yard clean and organized with help from drivers and shop staff as needed. Stage materials in shop work areas using a forklift. Restock unused materials on racks, bins, and shelves to ensure that all items are easily identified by job and purchase order number. Maintain the shipping and receiving areas to allow safe loading and unloading of trucks. Coordinate loading of trucks and deliveries as requested. Work with and coordinate drivers and truck loaders to ensure material shippers are complete and product placed on trucks has been approved for shipping, and is un-damaged. Keep in contact with drivers for any changes in directives. Stay late or come in early to ensure that trucks are loaded and out on time. When processed material is received, thoroughly inspect all material and confirm material and shipping tickets match purchase orders. Coordinate with field superintendent to confirm any additional materials, drawings, hardware, or equipment might be needed. When FOB items are delivered to the jobsite, make sure the name of the company, contact name, and contact phone number is on the packing list. Make sure a representative of that company signs and prints their name on the packing list. Keep shop clean and organized, including hardware and materials storage areas. Store all materials, hardware and consumables in their proper place as they are received. A Class B License is a plus, in order to fill in as a backup driver when needed. When projects have been completed, move all unused hardware to designated storage area and generate a list for input into stock inventory. Once material certs are received, upload into FABSUITE.
