Advice on house plant

Description

For Christmas I bought my Mother a baby rubber plant. We didn't know much about them except they didn't require a lot of light or water and need humidity. I was very hesitant to do anything with it for fear of hurting it untill I could research further. The other month my Mother was in the hospital nearly a couple weeks before passing and when my Father and I came home two of the plants looked nearly dead I tried giving them a little water and they've since died there's one left and now its looking very unwell. It's droopy and the leaves are turning brown but not crisp. I don't imagine its over watered we've never really watered it, it doesn't get much light probably not enough, and with us not being home it likely wasn't getting the humidity. There's no evidence of pests. I don't know if any of this is accurate. I just don't know what to do and don't want to do the wrong thing. Please help, I can't lose this little plant. My mother and I shared a love for plants and she hadn't had any for a bit of time.We loved it very much and it's the last plant she acquired. I've got to save it. The pictures I took last night, it looks a little worse now. Last night I gave it a tiny amount of water off my hand and during the day I've started moving it from the back of the toilet to the sink so it receives a little more light. Please provide me with some advice. Thank you for your time and my apologizes for the rambling.
