Job description We are looking for a skilled, hard-working, and reliable General Handyman to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior and exterior of Company salons. We will rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs to assist our operations team. We pride ourselves on sustaining excellent curb appeal as well as providing our licensees with safe, beautiful places to run their businesses and prosper. Your job responsibilities will include the maintenance and upkeep of our corporate salons including but not limited to minor carpentry, drywall, minor electrical, flooring, troubleshooting and minor adjustments to heating and cooling, restrooms, studio resets (minor remodeling / repairs), painting, plumbing, pressure washing, and windows and doors. Your skilled hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a Service Technician’s arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job. A “can-do” attitude with a good sense for problem-solving will be key attributes leading to success in this position. A successful service technician is versatile enough to repair faulty toilets, fix minor electrical issues, refresh rooms, paint, and handle numerous other tasks. What you will be doing: Inspect all corporate facilities monthly to identify potential problems with building maintenance, mechanical failure, and/or breakdowns. Respond to requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, installing new locks, and troubleshooting equipment. Ability to perform studio resets (including minor construction repairs, drywall patch and paint, caulking, replace carpet tiles and/or luxury vinyl tiles, baseboard and trim, remove / replace shampoo shuttle or pedestal sinks). Routine, minor repairs, involving plumbing leaks and clogs, electrical and safety systems in units as required. Replace lamps, assemble furniture, hang artwork, manage inventory supplies and materials used in repair and maintenance functions and maintain such inventory supplies and materials at corporate storage facilities. Test performance of in-unit appliances, such as microwaves, washers, dryers, recirculating pumps, water heaters and storage tanks. Respond to requests from property managers and maintenance services as needed. Keep detailed records of services performed, materials used, and transportation to and from work sites. Review work by tradespersons including electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs. Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks. Identify and report the need for major repair (advising Facilities team where complex repairs require skilled tradespersons. Report findings on a weekly basis and maintain service records on each facility. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems. Basic math skills. Good communication skills, and a professional appearance and demeanor, appropriate for dealing with various types of stakeholders (including landlords, corporate management team, salon managers, beauty professionals and tradespersons); Well-organized and adept at problem-solving. Attention to detail. Service mindset. Current Driver’s License with a clean record and insurance. Must have reliable transportation, preferably a truck, capable of carrying the tools and equipment needed to perform the job. Must speak English, bi-lingual is a plus. Adept with common hand and power tools. Familiarity with building systems and infrastructures. Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, service, and efficiency.
