Staples Construction is urgently looking for a Traffic Controller (Construction Laborer) for a jobsite in Ventura, CA. This is a full-time position but for a project that will between 6 to 8 weeks. Job Duties: Work independently or with a team member, reporting to a field supervisor. Setting of lane closure and detours Sign installation Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Skills: Ability to mitigate and lead others to overcome challenges (Never Ever Give Up Attitude). Ability to work independently and multi-task. Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices. Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness. Must be open to feedback, differing opinions and other points of view. Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations. Ability to speak and comprehend basic English language. Physical Demands: Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc. Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (approximately -50% of shift) - may sit 50% of the time. Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
