We are seeking a carpenter's assistant/helper to perform tasks including, but not limited to: ● Work with our carpenter to complete pre-weatherization tasks in residential homes ● Install a variety of basic construction items (ie: door frames, attic dams, soffit vents, etc) ● Install windows ● Air-sealing building components ● Worksite cleanup Workday begins at our shop, where employees receive daily assignments. Employees are responsible for loading the trucks with necessary job materials and arrive at the job site within the designated time window. Job sites differ day to day and can include retrofits in customer’s primary residences, new construction, or commercial buildings. A customer-focused approach to every job is essential. Typically, our technicians work Monday-Friday. Some weekends may be required, as determined by the workload. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ● No degree required, education/experience in building/construction trades is a plus. ● Experience driving large trucks, a DOT medical card is required to drive our vehicles (can apply without one & will coordinate obtaining med card) ● Ability to read, write, and speak effectively ● Basic math skills required ● Ability to problem solve ● Team-oriented work approach ● Professional, customer focused demeanor ● Excellent communication ability and time management skills This is a physical job. Frequently, employees are required to crawl, stoop or fit in restricted spaces such as attics or crawl spaces.
