Ok, it’s a little looser than that. I’m a multi-instrumentalist with his own recording studio and rehearsal space and a collection of instruments and musical gadgets that will make a serious musician drool in awe. I also own and operate a great business and I have no delusions of headlining an international tour and living a life of rock n roll decadence. I’ve been to Hell and back with personal tragedy, suffered, struggled and been carried by God through vicious storms making them out alive but not without their share of casualties and to speak of I am currently facing another difficult personal challenge with hopes and the drive to set this one right. I say this because I truly need my music to carry me through this and going forward having a positive and healthy space to be able to create with a group of like- minded, spiritually driven guys to have fraternity with. I have a treasure trove music I have written and the tools to see them be created, recorded and shared professionally. So, as the title would suggest, I am looking for a guitarist that has the chops to create an Andy Summers like wall of sonic genius and a drummer that is of equal ability to maintain a very well timed train to be in tight synchronization of my bass playing. I am not looking to be a Police cover band, however, I cannot deny my intent to use their formulas to bring out my music. To appease and/or deter potential interests I am in my mid forties, and I would like to find guys in same relative universe, give or take a little, but not a lot. Sorry, if you are really young, you have a whole lot more options than us born in the seventies folks have and if you are one or two presidential administrations before us, I am not knocking you, I am sure you are a rock star, it’s just the sensibilities are not in concert. I hope that did not offend anyone, that’s not the intent. I’ve just played with people much younger and quite a bit older and, at least in my experience, the vibes are just skewed. I’ll let you decide if you want to read any further. Also, a band is a democracy but I’ve invested a lot of time and money in building my setup so, at least for this project, I would be presenting a lot of my material, but it would be at the other musicians discretion on the input of their parts. That’s not a power or control, I just want to be transparent from the start and I’m not up to get into long, drawn out discussions because someone feels like they are being marginalized. This is for fun and if you get to see my setup, you’ll be beyond thrilled to be a part of it, I can assure you of that. Still reading? Ok, cool. Digest all of this because if you are picking up the right vibes I’m sending, you are right for the part. If not, if any or all of this has rubbed you the wrong way already, trust me, this will not be your proverbial cup of Java. Oh yeah, the mandatory ‘influences’: Sting/Police (who figured), Talking Heads, Maroon 5 before they went hip hop, Radiohead, Black Keys, Bob Marley, Peter Gabriel, Panic, Morphine, I think you get the general idea. I would like to get some tunes recorded, play out, get a local following. Think rock with some Caribbean vibes, throw in a little sonic experimentation and the ability to improv live. Bring out your best musical self. This is all from a place of love, I am a serious Christian and I don’t dabble in drugs or alcohol. I’m trying harder than ever to reach my best personal physical, mental and spiritual self, however, I’m also not judgmental of how people choose to live their lives and their will always be a fridge at the studio if you like to have your favorite buzz bringer chilled. Just don’t be mainlining speedballs in between sessions. So, if somehow that all seems to line up with your musical ambitions, you genuinely are up to the challenge, aren’t hoping to make this your sole livelihood because you have a real job and life beyond this, and you are in the area (trust me that matters greatly) and have quality and reliable equipment, let me know more about you. I’m determined to make this a positive, exciting and powerful ongoing experience. It just takes the right combination of good hearted and genuine people to make this happen.
