THIS IS A FREELANCE POSITION We are seeking skilled and experienced Carpenters and Installers for in-shop fabrication and/or onsite install work. As a Carpenter, you'd be responsible for assisting with the build of custom elements and sets at our shop. As an Installer, you'd be responsible for assisting with installation and disassembly out in the field on our jobsites. Jobsites include retail stores, brand activations, private events and more. You must have knowledge of fabrication, staging, and installing events & displays. Our shop is located near Downtown Brooklyn. Our onsite gigs take place across the New York and New Jersey Metro area. The work hours will vary, based on schedule of each gig. Candidates with open availability are highly preferred (days, nights and weekends - occasional over-time is available.) RESPONSIBILITIES: - Act as a Carpenter in our fabrication shop to build custom elements that meet our quality standards. - Act as an Installer on job sites and help manage site activities to meet deadlines. - Troubleshoot issues with Project Managers + Install Team - Load equipment and tools properly on company vehicles for delivery and work in the field - Demonstrate responsible attendance and punctuality. - Follow all safety regulations on job sites. - Attend scouts and meetings leading up to the installation, as needed. REQUIREMENTS: - Must be experienced with hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery - Able to lift up to 75 pounds - Possess the ability to follow directions, plans, blueprints, and sketches. - Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and possible holidays to meet the varied needs of the event industry - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Must possess professional interpersonal skills to interact with clients - A strong working computer and mobile devices knowledge - Must be accurate, detail orientated – with the ability to operate well under pressure - Ability to multi-task and stay focused on critical objectives EXPERIENCE 2-5 years of construction / fabrication experience 2-5 years of on-site installation experience
