US work authorization (Required) High school or equivalent (Preferred) FLSD License, or willingness to obtain FLSD License (Preferred) Full Job Description Looking for a pro-active and hard-working Engineer to repair and maintain the property in compliance with local, state, and brand standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Respond to all guest requests in a timely and efficient manner Ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner and according to department specifications Perform preventive maintenance service on all guestrooms, public areas, and administrative offices Inspect and maintain mechanical areas Troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times Interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with guests and colleagues in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings Must be proactive in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information Exhibit a high level of professionalism in all interactions/situations Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by a supervisor/manager Qualifications 2 years of experience as an Engineer, preferably in a hotel General knowledge of building maintenance and systems Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each accordingly Skilled in several areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping Must be willing and able to be responsive to complaints about maintenance Outstanding organizational and time management processes High school diploma or GED preferred Must be flexible to work various shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently Must have a professional demeanor and appearance Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects Job Type: Full-time
