Do you like driving a van to Montgomery and back in a day? Are you good at driving a van to Montgomery and back in a day? Then this may be the gig for you. This needs to take place by Friday. First we will let you drive around a bit in the van with me in the passenger seat so I can at least make sure you are not rolling up on sidewalks and blowing through stoplights. I will give you cash for gas. I will say a prayer to a God I don't believe in and all the other gods I don't believe in just in case. I will send you on your way to Montgomery. (You would do well to leave very early. The a/c in the van blows cool-ish and it is more comfortable to ride with the windows down. Sorry. ) You will drive to Montgomery and pick up a load of r-panel metal roofing. We can't get it in Nola and the roof of my warehouse was blown off in Ida. They will load it in the van. You will then do what you just did but in the opposite direction. When you get back to Nola you will be responsible for helping unload the panels. You don't have to do it by yourself. Rocket science it ain't. The van isn't a complete piece of shit. It is a 2012 (I think) Ford Econoline. We'll have it nice and clean for you. It is kind of rattly though. (Just turn the music up.) Please, please don’t just say, “I’m down,” or something like that. I don’t expect a resume and a cover letter but you gotta give me SOMETHING to go on. If you say something like, “I can do it,” that is not enough for me to make a snap judgement on how likely your are to show up or how likely you are to abscond with my van. Please do not abscond with my van. A pic would be nice. Why? So I can look for visual clues like whether or not you are reasonably groomed (good) or have one of those tear drop tattoos indicating you killed someone in prison (bad). Bonus points for cool hair (good.) You HAVE to have a clean driving record. You have to let me take a pic of your license so just in case you are a van thief, when the police say, "You did what? Well at least you got a pic of their license, right?" I don't have to go, "Ummm.... no." Pay is $200. You don't have to ask if I am paying for gas. Of course I am paying for gas. Godspeed.
