Description

The KING YELLOWMAN Show featuring K'Reema & The Sagittarius Band Crazy Horse Presents 21+ Yellowman King Yellowman - the legend of reggae dancehall - is joined by K'Reema & The Sagittarius Band for a show that will go down in history. I remember the moment so clearly when I pushed play on that grey boombox in my bedroom. A pulsing, hypnotic groove emerged along with an irresistible lyrical flow in an exotic dialect. It was unlike anything my 12-year-old ears had heard before. I was instantly obsessed with the sound of Dancehall and the cutting-edge genre’s anti-hero – Yellowman. I spent the next several years devouring every one of his records I could get my hands on. My super fandom peaked in about ’93 when I got to see him at a small club on Miami’s South Beach. He was even more electric in the flesh than I had imagined. Fast forward until now and I get goosebumps when contemplating that the “rudest dancehall toaster of the 80’s, Jamaica’s albino son” - King Yellowman himself - is actually coming to play the Crazy Horse Saloon! Not only that, but he will be with his daughter K’Reema and the legendary Sagittarius Band. At age 65, he’s singing at a slightly slower pace. Yet there’s no doubt that Yellowman’s witticisms are as cheeky , spirited and intelligent as ever, and always delivered with his sharp, melodic style. He has too many hits to mention and for many of us these songs have been anthems throughout our lives. K’Reema stands on her own as a highly regarded R&B, pop and reggae singer with a massive following of fans all around the world. She’s a chip off the old block, yet she blazes her own trails with her unmistakable talent and mesmerizing flair. She will have the place bumping with a set of her own before giving way to Yellowman. Then the two will join forces for an extended set of duets to finish the night. I know I’m not the only who will be pinching themselves when they see King Yellow up on the Crazy Horse stage. I’ll definitely have company from KVMR’s reggae DJ Redlocks who will surely pull out all the stops in setting the tone with a set of his choicest cuts. All who plan to attend will be required to follow our Covid-19 protocols. All ticket holders must present proof of vaccination with their last shot being AT LEAST two weeks prior to this date. If you were vaccinated in CA, enter your info at this website no more than 24 hours before showtime and present the QR code on your phone upon entry: https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/ We also accept negative test results taken no earlier than 48 hours before showtime. At-home tests are fine as long as they are verified through the app of whatever company makes the test. We also accept positive Covid results from within the previous three months as long as you have fully recovered and it has been at least two weeks. The Crazy Horse requires masks covering the nose and mouth for entry. Beyond that wearing them is at your discretion. We think erring on the side of caution is a wise move in general. Thanks in advance for your cooperation! Yellowman
