DNR - LIve in Canton - Rock 'N' Roll Concert - Adult General Admission $20/Students Ages 15-18 $10 and Age 14 & Under Free! DNR (do not resuscitate) band is eclectic group of 12 medical professionals whose birth came almost 20 years ago in respond to a request for a fundraiser entertainment band for dinner music in an effort to raise money for a local charity. The director of the band put the word out to the medical community here in Sioux Falls for “anyone” with musical talent to come together to help this charitable cause. The band was asked to play only during the meal served at the fundraiser to keep guests entertained with light music entertainment. Near the end of the dinner hour the band broke into some rock ‘n’ roll music. The guests got out of their chairs and began to enjoy dancing and swinging to the music that was created. When the time came to close the show and turn over the evening to the DJ hired for the dance the crowd was sorely disappointed to let the DNR band go. That night the hiring agents DNR to play in one year’s time for the second annual fundraiser but take charge of the dance portion of the evening and leave the dinner music to a DJ. Suffice it to say the second annual fundraiser dance was a smash success for a band which was made up of miscellaneous yet talented medical professionals. And so, in addition to serving their patients medical needs the band was able to serve musical entertainment up at a level uncommon for any local music group. These 10 musicians continue even now doing for nearly 20 years the enjoyable task of raising money and raising spirits of people whom they’ve entertained with an energy that is unparalleled in the area. Please enjoy an evening with “DNR” at the Canton Center for Performing Arts on October 9, 2021 at 7:30 PM. This event is a “do not miss” opportunity to enjoy music that is sure to please every ear.
