Position Available: Immediately POSITION TITLE: Amusement Ride Maintenance Engineer DEPARTMENT: Operations/Maintenance Position Responsibilities Summary: Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair an amusement attraction(s). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS: (Includes but is not limited to the following). Inspect Ride System and associated equipment. Maintain, Repair and troubleshoot Ride System. Must have knowledge in the mechanical and electrical field. Work at heights over 400 feet while secured to the ride cable. Other job related duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Education or equivalent required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Previous theme park, and/or zip line maintenance experience preferred. Knowledge with Clark County ATS and ASTM requirements preferred. NAARSO or AIMS inspector certificates preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent communication skills. Understand and comply with all corporate rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Skill's in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff. Read, write and communicate verbally in English. Ability to perform basic math. RIDE ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS: Must be proficient at inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing amusement ride and associated equipment (in accordance with ASTM and Clark County ATS standards). Must be able to climb rides or structures to 400' in elevation. Engineer must have the ability to use diagnostic tools, such as but not limited to: amp meters, voltmeters, etc. PHYSICAL DEMAND: Requires being mobile 80% of the shift. May require prolonged standing. Requires frequent bending, stooping and may work from platforms, ladders, catwalks and perform cable inspection over 400' in elevation. May require transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 90 lbs. Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires use of hand power tools. Requires normal sense of smell, touch, and sound. Requires normal vision range. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols, schematics, and interpret manufactures guidelines for the operation and maintenance requirements. Requires communicating by telephone and radio. Requires regular, predictable attendance and occasional, unscheduled overtime. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions. Work is performed in small areas and high areas. Work is performed in areas, which may be unusually hot, cold, and wet. Work entails chemical usage. Interaction with operations staff and guests. WORK SCHEDULE: Regular scheduled hours -- Shifts and hours vary. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
