General Description: As a J&R Tire Inc. Retread Technician you will perform retreading functions for commercial tires. This position functions is in a manufacturing environment at J&R Tire Inc. facility where commercial truck tires are retreaded through a series of manual and automated processes. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Train for all aspects of retread tire manufacturing including: inspecting and buffing tire carcasses, applying rubber compounds, curing, and quality control. • Follow processes to ensure retread tire completion. Follow all safety and liability guidelines and policies, including using PPE and ensure safe operation of machines. • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting (70 lbs), including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting. • Basic shop up keep to maintain a clean, safe and clutter free environment. Basic Requirements: • Commitment to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED preferred. • NO previous experience necessary, training will be provided. Candidate Criteria: • Commitment to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner. • Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team. • Must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions.
