At 7:15 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Anthony Leon Hodge of Finding the Lost Sheep Street Ministry began walking the 24 miles from his home in Mascotte to his Impact Center in East Winter Garden.
In part, he's trying to raise awareness about "racial tensions" within East Winter Garden, but he's also preparing to make the 54-mile walk from Selma, Ala., to the state capital in Montgomery, on March 7, 2022, to commemorate the 1965 Civil Rights March that became known as "Bloody Sunday."
VoxPopuli caught up with Pastor Hodge on Colonial Drive around 1 p.m. as he passed through Oakland to ask him about this journey. Here's what he told us.
VoxPopuli is a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to covering politics, government and social justice issues that impact Winter Garden, Ocoee, Oakland and Windermere, Florida.
