BROOKLYN, NY — Police are asking the public's help to find a woman who punched someone for trying to sit next to her on a Brooklyn subway car. The woman was sitting on an N train headed toward the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station around 8:30 a.m. last Thursday when a 29-year-old woman asked to sit in the empty seat next to her, according to police. When the woman refused, the 29-year-old tried to sit down anyway, police said, causing a dispute between the two. The dispute escalated when the woman who had been sitting down punched the 29-year-old woman in her face and head, according to police. Both of the women got off the train at the Barclays Center station, where the 29-year-old was treated by emergency responders for brushing and swelling, police said. Police released a photo of the woman who is wanted on assault charges.
