Police Stop Woman Driving On Car Rims

RAMAPO, NY — A call Monday morning about a person driving a car on its rims in Sloatsburg sent Ramapo police out looking for a car that fit the description. An officer located the car on Interstate 287, disabled, in Hillburn near the Mahwah border. The car had traveled about 7 miles on its rims from the time of the first call to the time it was located. The operator, from Tuxedo Park, NY, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated-drugs. After being processed the operator was released with an appearance ticket, Ramapo police said.
