Description
NEW BERLIN, WI — A New Berlin man is facing charges of 11 counts of child pornography, according to online court records. Charges were filed in Waukesha County Court last week, with each carrying the possibility of 25 years in jail.
Spencer Charles Garvens, 27, is accused of knowingly possessing child pornography. He is also charged with possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed in court on Sept. 23.
If Garvens is convicted, his charges could each mandate a minimum of three years in prison. He is expected back in court for an initial appearance on Oct. 7.
To be convicted, Wisconsin law stipulates that Garvens "knows or reasonably should know that the child depicted in the material who is engaged in sexually explicit conduct has not attained the age of 18 years."
Patch is waiting for follow-up details from the Waukesha County District Attorney and the New Berlin Police Department.
