We're the Ruby wedding+party band, based in Pleasanton specializing in private parties, weddings, corporate events. Seeking a really good bassist same age as our target audiences (25-40) with stage presence who is a quick study and interested in our genres which include dance-focused contemporary pop, classic R&B dance (Celebration by Kool+Gang), '80's rock (Bon Jovi, Journey, Whitney Houston, Blondie, Pat Benetar, Joan Jett), modern country (Lady Antebellum, Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker). Qualities we are looking for: - have a 5-string bass to hit notes lower than E, which has become very prevalent in contemporary pop dance tunes, and a rig to replicate the sounds of bass in pop songs like Say So (Doja Cat), Don't Start Now (Dua Lipa), Can't Stop The Feeling (Justin Timberlake), Sucker (Jonas Brothers). - can sing, and can do so even when there are challenging bass lines to play, and specifically can sing harmonies (i.e., can hold your vocal part even when there are 3 other singers doing other parts). - lives within 1 hour drive from Pleasanton. We rehearse 1x per week. - energetic onstage with the chemistry to be a part of the "front line" and meld with our male and female singers onstage.
