Geis Building Products located in Brookfield is looking for skilled Painter to join our team. FULL TIME POSITION with overtime potential Starting pay rate is $16+ per hour (commensurate with experience) plus benefits (health, disability, 401K, vacation). We are looking for an experienced Painter to paint and stain overhead garage doors at our shop in Brookfield, as well as re-finish doors in the field. They must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. The goal is to deliver high-quality custom painted and stained garage doors. Responsibilities: -Read instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary -Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding/etc. -Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material -Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture -Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools -Apply varnish and other finishes -Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions Qualifications: -Proven experience as a painter -Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them -Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.) -Good basic math skills -Conscientious with great attention to detail -Attention to safe handling of product and working in a safe manner Requirements: -High school diploma or GED -Ability to lift and carry loads in excess of 50 pounds -Ability to walk and stand on concrete surfaces during entire shift -Ability to understand instructions in written, oral or diagram form -This position also requires a pre-employment drug test
