Maintenance Technician – Commercial Buildings Job Overview We are a property management company looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Technician to maintain a variety of Commercial properties from Tacoma to Federal Way. In this role you will be responsible for performing general, and preventive maintenance to buildings, grounds and equipment as well as performing corrective repairs as necessary. The ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in decision making is essential to this role. Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician • Troubleshooting and repair of buildings and installed systems to include plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, grounds, and HVAC. • Utilize several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling • Perform day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance • Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks and projects within budget • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities • Work in tandem with 3rd party contractors and vendors as needed • Maintain logs and report on daily activities • Ensure that buildings, landscape, and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety Qualifications for Maintenance Technician • 5+ years' experience in a commercial maintenance environment • Proficient in Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry and HVAC with a strong knowledge of how a buildings mechanical system operates • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Ability to rank and prioritize multiple projects at once • Competent in problem solving • A valid driver's license • Ability to deal with ambiguity, self-starter, and hard worker Pay: $45,000+ per year DOE, plus bonus opportunities Schedule: Generally, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
