Here are the top stories in Buffalo today: A Buffalo man accused of fatally shooting girlfriend in 2018 has gone to trial. 27-year-old Shane Casado is accused of fatally shooting his former girlfriend, Rachael Wierzbicki, in a domestic dispute on Edson Street in South Buffalo in November 2018. The trial started on Monday in Erie County Court on a charge of second degree murder and is expected to last about two weeks. (WKBW-TV)A 16-year-old male is recovering after being shot on Buffalo's east side early Tuesday morning. Buffalo Police were called to the 300 block of Lathrop just after 2 a.m. after a shooting was reported. Officers found a teenager on the scene who had been shot, who was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital. He is currently listed in serious condition.
