Here are the top stories today in Albuquerque: M'tucci's Moderno Italian Restaurant, a local chain, is planning to renovate the iconic Jones Motor Company building in Albuquerque that has been vacant for over a year. The building used to be a popular spot for cars driving along Route 66 in the 1940s and 1950s. According to online documents, the city's Landmark Commission recently approved M'tucci's request to renovate five of the old service bays in the long garage behind the building. Because it is a historic landmark, features like the old service gas pumps and the shape of the patio must be preserved. The company hopes to have everything open by January. (KRQE News 13)The man who confessed to multiple murders in the 1980s, Paul Apodaca, was back in court again Monday to see if he'll be released before his trial. The state asked the court today to keep Apodaca behind bars until his trial next year. Based on his extensive criminal history, the judge agreed. At the beginning of Monday's hearing, the state took more than seven minutes to list Apodaca's criminal history.
