By Jeff Todd, CBS Denver: DENVER (CBS4) – Colorado continues to see record numbers from sports gambling as the emerging industry starts its second football season. "What's clear to me is that the market hasn't plateaued yet and so I keep waiting for the numbers to sort of balance out, but they haven't yet," said Rep. Alec Garnett, the Speaker of the House, and legislator who helped lead the bipartisan sports gambling law in 2019. While taxes have been generated from the $3 billion wagered since betting went live in May of 2020, Garnett says other benefits have come to the state.
