Description

Hey y'all, The nonprofit I work for, LaunchCode, provides free coding education, career guidance, and apprenticeship/job placement to people looking to launch a tech career. We're opening one of our signature courses to students from Charlotte and the surrounding area for the first time. This free class will be virtual/remote, full-time, M-F, 9am-5pm Eastern for 15 weeks starting November 29 (with a 10-day holiday break). We're coming to Charlotte because some of our employer partners who love to hire our graduates have high demand for entry-level tech talent in the Charlotte area. This is great, because we're hopeful that we'll be able to help the graduates of this class find paid apprenticeships and jobs after the class. Read more & Apply: Sign up for a virtual info session: The curriculum includes coding fundamentals and universal concepts in Javascript, then a deeper dive into some back-end technologies using Java, along with some other in-demand skills. No coding experience required--we just look for eager learners and career-changers with a passion for technology, drive to succeed, and aptitude for problem-solving. Graduates will be eligible for LaunchCode's apprenticeship placement help. Sometimes we hear that our courses sound too good to be true, but there's really no catch other than that the material is difficult, and you have to be ready to work hard. We're able to offer our courses for free through grants, donations, and the revenue we generate from companies who pay us to hire our graduates. No contracts or anything like that for the students. So if you're looking for an accessible and supportive pathway into a tech career, this could be for you!
