PITTSBURGH, PA — City public safety officials caution that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo's visit to Pittsburgh Tuesday will cause traffic delays and parking restrictions. The pair will be making visits to several different locations, causing traffic to be stopped briefly as the motorcades travel around the city. "The traveling public, and those who live and work Downtown, should plan for intermittent traffic delays and road closures during the visit of the United States secretary of state and the commerce secretary to Pittsburgh," Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Commander Eric Holmes said in a news release. "We encourage everyone to be patient, plan alternate routes, and work a bit of extra time into their commute." Downtown, Oliver Avenue will be closed from William Penn Place to Grant Street until Blinken's departure on Thursday. Blinken, Raimondo and United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will serve as co-chairs of the inaugural U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Ministerial. They will meet Wednesday with the European Union co-chairs, European Commission Executive Vice Presidents Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovski. On Thursday, Blinken will join the U.S. and EU co-chairs to visit Argo AI, an autonomous driving technology company.
