LEMONT, IL — To celebrate National Fire Prevention Month, the Lemont Fire Protection District will hold an open house for the public on Saturday. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at fire station 1, 15900 New Ave.
Lemont firefighter paramedics will give several demonstrations throughout the event and highlight specialty teams like arson investigation, hazardous materials team, technical rescue team, rescue task force, water rescue team and high performance CPR, according to the fire district.
The district will also show a side-by-side live burn and Lifestar air methods.
There will also be ladder truck candy drop, a kids' firefighter dress up, a mini combat challenge for kids, and Sparky the fire dog will pay a visit to the station.
