GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY— PS 41 Greenwich Village has been named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education for 2021. This honor is given annually to outstanding public and non-public schools, celebrating "school excellence, turn around stories, and closing subgroup achievement gaps," according to the USDOE. This is the first year PS 41 has received this honor. "Central to our mission is a shared belief that each child and family brings to our school a unique set of experiences, perspectives, and abilities," school staff wrote in the application. "We provide an environment in which students learn how to be their best selves, grow their confidence in the process, and develop into empathic members of the community." PS 41 has an enrollment of 533, according to the school's application. This year, 19 schools in the state of New York were named National Blue Ribbon Schools, out of 325 schools nationwide.
