Have you ever wanted to learn a brass or reed instrument or how to play the drums? Is your high school or middle school horn gathering dust in your attic? Have you always wanted to join a local band but thought maybe your skills wouldn’t cut it? Come join Blowcomotion! Blowcomotion is Austin’s adult learning brass band. We’re a community band composed of musicians of all skill levels and we’re open to any and all who want to join us! We’ve played shows all over the city and we’re always looking for new members. If you have an instrument, that’s great! If not, we can loan you one. We have a growing library of instruments on offer for new band members. We don’t want cost to be a barrier to joining the band--Blowcomotion is for everyone! The instrument you select is yours to borrow for as long as you choose to play with the band. Blowcomotion practices weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. Right now, we have a small group meeting in-person (socially distanced) at Shipe Park in Hyde Park. Each section (low brass, trumpets, saxes, and percussion) has a skilled, professional teacher who will help you learn or refresh your skills on your instrument. Interested?
