~Baroque Pop~ Percussionist/Drummer needed

Meets

Atlanta GA

Description

Hi there - I'm looking for a drummer or general percussionist (pref mid-late 20s) to work closely with on a songwriting project. LGBTQ+ friendly is a must. Melody, chords, and songwriting have been a focus for me for a long time and I have plenty of collegiate music training - I'm looking for someone who feels the same way about music, but with percussion. Here are a few points -- - I come from music academia and have ties to the Athens/ATL scene, so this is a great gig for anyone new to town looking to get started and push on a creative project that tests your skills while meeting new people along the way. - Preferred availability is during the week, evenings (6pm-10pm). We can start with once a week and ramp up from there if needed. - Must have fondness for baroque pop and willingness to invent within that genre -- here's a small list of influences: Ladybug Transistor, Os Mutantes, McCartney Ram, Hal Blaine, (Ringo to some extent), Esquivel/Martin Denny - I have a studio/practice space, so I'm mainly just looking for someone easy to get along with who has a knack for percussion. (Basically, if you play drums with mallets and own percussion toys - you're probably the perfect fit.) - Probably the exact opposite of a "jam" situation. This will be more focused work, lots of communication, experimenting, collaborating, and writing parts. If the above sounds like something for you - this will be an open collaboration where you will have plenty of creative freedom to explore and do what you want. If this doesn't sound like your thing, I, unfortunately, don't want to work with someone who isn't INTO this kind of stuff and wants to go a different direction. If this all fits within your goals in percussion, this could be for you. I'd be happy to meet up and talk music. Cheers~
