We are looking for a dependable hard working, reliable and honest maintenance technician. About the Position The job involves performing reactive and preventative maintenance on the properties of our clients. The owners and managers of these buildings trust us to keep them in good working order so that their tenants have a good living experience. With the help of office staff, our maintenance technicians carry out work-orders which require a variety of skills and independent problem-solving. Schedule: • Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (40 hours a week) • On-call evenings and weekends when required (usually once a month) Character: • Self-starter with ability to work independently • Integrity, honesty and reliability • Respectful of staff and clients Requirements and Responsibilities: • Performs all reactive and preventative maintenance for designated properties, assisting in the repair of lighting, fans, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliances, door locks, drywall, painting, basic carpentry and any other related tasks • Takes proactive steps to ensure, that residents are provided with a clean, safe and well-maintained property, continually inspecting the property and reporting deficiencies to supervisor • Assists the porter in the detailing of the grounds, such as trash pick-up, where necessary • Prepares units to move-in ready condition Company Operations: • Performs allocated tasks on schedule • Handles ''on call'' duties whenever needed and carry a mobile phone during business hours • Is available for emergency calls outside of normal business hours when necessary Other General Requirements: • Proof to work in the US • Current Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive safely • Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings and comprehend instructions (when necessary) • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written or oral form • Ability to diagnose problems, collect information and establish facts Specialist appliance repair skills and experience a plus English speaking, Bi-lingual a plus Background Check will be undertaken before employment Please provide resume with 2 business references
