Farmers' Market Worker for Local, Organic Farm

We’re a local, organic family farm that needs help at the farmers' market. We’re well-established and have a wide product line using our local produce, grains, and other organic ingredients. In addition to selling produce we sell delicious, organic mostly vegan foods at the farmers' markets in Portland and Vancouver. We’re looking for a positive, energetic person to run our stand at the Vancouver Farmers' Market on Saturdays, through the end of the season, which ends on December 19. You will be the face of our farm to our loyal customers and to folks visiting the market for the first time, representing the delicious healthy food we lovingly grow and make. The ideal candidate will find strong resonance - and a desire to be associated with - organic foods, local foods, healthy foods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be organized, cheerful, respectful, dependable, and honest. You would come to the market and drive our van a short distance (a block or two), unload and re-park, then set up and run the stand for the hours of the market, breakdown the stand, reload into the van and park again close by. Would be great if have some knowledge of cooking to give customers ideas of how to use our products. An interest in nutrition, probiotics, organic, and herbal remedies. Should enjoy and be able to handle a sometimes busy and social environment. We hope you would have an interest in being part of the social movement that is local, organic agriculture. Proficiencies: Customer service Being on time Dependable Artistic aesthetic in display of vegetables Physically fit enough to unload and load our products and arrange our display in a timely fashion Patience in dealing with public Making change Must have valid driver's license.
