compensation: $18/hr to start: part-time
We are a well-established, boutique dog daycare with a dedicated and upbeat staff. Our shop is big, sunny, with a great vibe.
This job is part-time, between 20 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are closed on major holidays. If you are a student, we can try to work around your school schedule.
Available schedules are 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 6 pm. Being on time for your shift is critical. You may be asked to work different shifts on different days.
You must have some prior experience working with dogs: as a walker, volunteer, groomer, long-time dog owner, etc. and a genuine love of dogs.
The primary purpose of our facility is to take loving care of other people's pets during the day.You will be expected to be on your feet most of the time, engaging the pups in play, cleaning up after them, feeding them, administering medications, and seeing to their comfort and security. You will also have to walk dogs to and from their homes (within a few block radius of our shop).
We will try to make the best use of your skills and experience, but no one is exempt from the more mundane and unpleasant chores like mopping floors and general cleaning. If you get ill at the idea of cleaning up diarrhea or vomit, then this is not the place for you.
Positive energy, a quick pace and a good sense of humor are critical for both the dogs and the rest of the staff.
The starting salary is $18 per hour, with raises thereafter pegged to performance. A higher starting salary may be offered depending on experience and managerial skills. Living within an easy and fast commute to Downtown Brooklyn is a plus.
If this job interests you, please send a brief description of your experience with dogs, and paste a copy of your resume into the body of your email.
