You were having beers with a friend at Clarkville, black shirt and khaki shorts with white socks, sneakers, and a baseball cap. I was the young woman reading across the street at Green Line Cafe, I was in all black gym clothes with long brown hair twisted into a braid with bangs. Our eyes kept meeting and even though I had to move to a different seat because the sun was in my face (making it harder for you to see me), we still kept catching each other's glances. You both got up to leave and crossed to my side of the street and as you lingered on the corner I saw your friend quickly glance at me, then you also turned around and smiled. When you started walking, you looked over your shoulder again and we both smiled at each other.
