Description
Rare F1 Goldendoodle whose father eas a Standard Red Poodle, and mother was a Golden Retriever. He did not inherit his father’s hypoallergenic coat, or the curly hair, amd sheds luke normal. He is literally a Golden Retriever with long legs and a very handsome face. He is beautiful, and extremely smart. Housetrained in under two weeks as a pup, doesn’t enter certain bedrooms and doesn’t chew furniture or destroy anything. Extremely obedient and the kind of dog where strangers always comment “he’s so sweet!” He understands “no begging” and will walk away from the dinner table. He understands “go to bed” and will put his toys away. He understands “wait” and will sit quietly and patiently while you prepare his bowl (there is no jumping all over you etc.) He LOVES toys, the dog park, sticks at campsites, and more. So why isn’t this the right home anymore? I work 60 hours a week, and raise two young children. It was working fine until we neutered him and some kind of hormonal imbalance changed his diet drastically. Out of nowhere, he couldn’t eat Fromm Beef Frittata anymore. He was itchy to the point of bleeding. We thought it was house cleaners and went all natural- still scratched. We switched his food, probably 10 times, each time eliminating potato, or corn, or soy, or wheat, or grains, or- fish, beef, chicken, peas, buckwheat, rice, yams, gosh- what else could it be? The vet had no answers, and prescribed him Purina Hydrolyzed food. Wow. The itching finally stopped. Phew. But that gave him diarrhea for a full month, and he lost too much weight, never adapting for a normal stool, why? Because Purina kind of sucks. We switched him to Blue Buffalo Hydrolyzed prescription food, now his itching is back and eyes puffy he can’t see. We went full vegan on Wild Earth vegan food. The cleanest possible kibble. The itching stopped, but he was emaciated, rail thin to the point of all ribs exposed. I guess garbanzo bean protein wasn’t cutting it. Our vision is that we can rehome him to a family with a large yard for him, who has the time and resources for his special dietary needs. He has lived the life of a lab rat here, as we put him through 10+ foods trying to combat his allergies and weight loss issues. He needs fresh air, and someone who doesn’t work 60 hours. He needs a life we can’t give him and as much as we love and will miss him, it’s more cruel to keep him then to find a better home. Now he has outgrown anything we can do for him and he needs someone dedicated to making fresh food for him, and giving him fresh air and space to roam. His adoption fee is $500 which will be donated to AdoptTogether (proof will be provided glady)
