Logic Modeling and Strategic Planning for Coalitions: How to get your coalition moving in the right direction! Title: “Logic Modeling and Strategic Planning for Coalitions: How to get your coalition moving in the right direction!” Date/Time: September 27th and 29th , 2021 from 9:00 am -4:30 am (Attendees must attend the full time of both sessions to receive CEU's) Location: DeCoach Rehabilitation Centre 36 N Detroit St Suite 105, Xenia, OH 45385 CEUs: 6 hours of content per day for a total of 12 hours for the two-day session Prevention Content Areas: P1 – Planning & Evaluation Description: Prevention coalitions continually do awe-inspiring work in their local communities that create healthy, well, and drug-free environments. However, overwhelmed by so many community needs, some coalitions lack the knowledge of how to properly plan their coalition initiatives, and end up “flying by the seat of their pants.” Unfortunately, this lack of planning can significantly decrease a coalition’s ability to provide high quality environmental prevention services, reach measurable outcomes, and know if their coalition is positively impacting their communities. With so many risk factors associated with social/emotional health, suicides, and substance use, how is a coalition to decide how to move forward? This two-part training session will answer that question by demonstrating a planning process that is an essential part of any prevention coalition’s success, starting with a session on logic models and finishing with a session on strategic and action planning. These two interactive sessions will allow coalition leaders and members to walk away with “plans in hand” that can be immediately used with their coalitions. Both sessions will be grounded in research via Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA), Dr. Fran Butterfoss with CoalitionsWork, and the Community Toolbox through the University of Kansas. Learning Objectives: By the end of the session, attendees will be able to: 1. Articulate why coalition planning is vital to every coalition 2. Define logic models, logic model terminology, and logic model benefits 3. Develop a logic model specifically tailored to meet their coalition’s goals 4. Define strategic planning, action planning, and their benefits 5. Create a strategic plan and action plan tailored to meet their coalition’s goals Presenter Bio: Andrea Hoff, MPA, GPC, OCPC, ICPS Andrea Hoff is the Owner & President of You Thrive Training & Consulting, LLC, a company that provides training and consulting services in the areas of behavioral health prevention, nonprofit leadership, and fundraising.
