His critically acclaimed release, “From the Belly of Abraham”, with Hasidic New Wave and Senegalese master drummers Yakar Rhythms was named one of the ten best CD’s of 2002 by Jazz Times magazine. Greg performs frequently at top venues throughout North America and Europe and has been featured at many major festivals. Greg is equally fluent in the jazz and world music idioms and recently premiered his Unity Orchestra, a pan cultural ensemble featuring 8 musicians from 5 continents. Greg has collaborated with the Carolyn Dorfman Dance company since 1999, resulting in the commissioned scores for”Meyne Mentchen” (2000-2001), the electronic score, “Echad” (2002) , and the recently premiered “Lovelines” (2003) . Pianist: Rob Aries toured and recorded with artists such as guitarist John Scofield, the "world jazz" group Special EFX, R&B band Change, saxophonist Bill Evans, Brazilian pianist Eliane Elias, and singers Liza Minnelli, Melba Moore and Freddie Jackson. He also produced and co-wrote several songs on saxophonist Donald Harrison's CTI release "The Power of Cool", and played and composed for the late saxophonist Cornelius Bumpus’s CD "Known Fact" on Palmetto Records. Rob currently tours with the Average White Band. Drummer: Matt Moadel is a working drummer and teacher who has immersed himself deeply in many styles, ranging from traditional drum set styles and rudimental snare drumming to Middle-Eastern and African drumming. He earned a bachelor's degree in Percussion from Western Connecticut State University and has studied privately with teachers of many genres. Matt has performed in many settings, from Jazz and Reggae to Flamenco and Funk to marching bands and pit orchestras. He has worked for 15 years as a performer, with many musicians, including the great Jazz Bassist Bill Crow, Indian Tabla master Deep Singh, Jim Donovan of "Rusted Root" and Flamenco great Val Ramos. Matt has been giving one-on-one instruction the past 10 years. His curriculum is not limited to one path but follows a natural progression, directed not only by the need for the essential elements of music and drumming but also by the needs and learning style of the student.
