A Great Day in the Stoke will be the largest gathering of Black surfers in history held at Pier Plaza Huntington Beach, aka Surf City U.S.A. The purpose of A Great Day in the Stoke is to bring Black surfers of the African diaspora together and celebrate our existence. The inaugural AGDITS will create a safe space for Black surfers to connect, compete in a surf competition, recognize and award leaders in the community, provide free surf lessons, and capture an iconic photo of 500 Black surfers similar to A Great Day in Harlem (1958) and A Great Day in Hip-Hop (1998).
