Requirements:  A reliable floor care janitor who performs special floor care, specific cleaning projects and daily floor cleaning duties in accordance with standard procedures in the contract.  Prior janitorial experience preferred but not required.  Ability to pass background check at time of hire and for duration of employment. Felonies prohibit base access. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:  Floor care including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, burnishing, and scrubbing, requiring use of a buffer and an auto-scrubber machine.  Strip and re-wax floors based on a floor care schedule.  Vacuum, spot clean, steam clean and shampoo carpets.  Use of electrically powered scrubber and polishing machines to burnish.  Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.  Provide daily preventative equipment maintenance on all equipment used and ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly.  Outside cleaning including sweeping and some pressure washing.  Must be able to perform all above responsibilities as well as follow the performance work statement (PWS) in contract. Physical Requirements and Essential Functions:  Ability to endure up to 7 hours a day of standing, and walking.  Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.  Must be able to reach, kneel, walk, stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.  Ability to adapt to changing schedules and routines.  Excellent time management skills.  Must pay attention to detail.  Ability to understand and carry out instructions.  Must be able to work well with others.  Must not exceed absences past accrued sick leave.  Maintains professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
