Job Title- Greenskeeper Reports To: Superintendent Position Concept: Under general supervision of the superintendent and the assistant superintendent assists in the directing and participates in the maintenance of the golf course and performs related tasks as required. Essential Duties • Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment. • Rakes and maintains sand bunkers. • Inspects all on course equipment for employee and guest safety. • Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming, and mowing. • Operates all equipment used for golf course maintenance as directed. • Involved with tasks related to course detail. (weed and debris clean up) • Attends staff meetings. • May apply fertilizers to the course as directed. • Prioritizes work and uses time efficiently. • Operates walking equipment in mowing greens, collars, tees and other areas designated by supervisor. • Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris. • Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid injury to self and others. • Operates equipment safely and incorporates safe work practices in job performance. • Report all cases of injury, theft or loss immediately to the Superintendent. Job Knowledge and Education • Valid driver’s license required Working Conditions • Regularly stands, walks, and sits. • Works both in and out of doors. • Regularly uses hands and fingers • Regularly may lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts more than 100 pounds. • May be vulnerable to errant golf balls. • Occasionally works in extreme cold and heat. • Works in areas near moving mechanical parts • May encounter risk of shock and vibrations • May work in wet an humid conditions • May come in to contact with fertilizers and toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes from both. • Noise level is loud • May work in high or precarious places. • Regularly may wear safety equipment that covers the entire body and may trap body heat and moisture.
