During this 4-part series, we will explore the dynamic changes of adolescent development and provide parents and guardians with effective strategies towards helping prepare their preteens and teens gain the essential life skills needed to survive and succeed in our modern, diverse society. (8-hour program - 4 two hour sessions.
The Youth Mental Health First Aid course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.
