Join The Agape Table for a film screening of Pray Away, the Netflix documentary that includes ex-leaders and a survivor of the “conversion therapy” movement who speak out about its harm to the LGBT+ community and its devastating persistence. The timeliness of this screening is important, as the city of Columbia recently passed a ban on conversion therapy practices. While this is a win for our city, it is only the beginning of the story. Join us as we reflect on the trauma that has been caused, and engineer a future that fosters healing.
The outdoor screening will take place in the backyard of the 1013 Coop, formerly Indie Grits Labs. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion. CDC guidelines will be honored and respected. There is no charge, but a donation to The Agape Table is highly appreciated!
