Position Description Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on heavy/highway construction projects: • Read and record various measurements. • Clean and prepare construction site to eliminate possible hazards. • Assist miscellaneous construction related task • Haul construction debris to dumpster on site. • Maintain a clean job site - pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site(s) each day to eliminate potential hazards. • Perform materials handling and storage. • Load/unloads trucks and haul materials. • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Position Requirements The laborer positions requires long periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping and bending. Laborer positions also require periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds. Qualifications: • One year of construction labor experience preferred • Ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions • Capable of working at a sustained pace and produce quality work • Must be accountable for conduct and have excellent attendance • Ability to have a flexible work schedule, including working overtime and weekends as needed Work Environment: Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
