Andrew Volstead was a US House of Representative in MN that is most infamous for the Prohibition Act of 1919. He also helped author the Capper–Volstead Act, which enabled farmers to form locally owned cooperatives without fear of prosecution. Without Volstead, we as a cooperative would not exist.
