MEDFORD, NY — A 54-year-old man was struck by a car and seriously injured in Medford Sunday night, Suffolk police said.
At about 9:40 p.m., a 22-year-old Medford man was driving a 2005 Honda Civic southbound on Route 112, south of Granny Road, when it struck the man walking in the roadway, police said.
The injured man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported in "critical condition" to Stony Brook University Hospital police said, adding that the driver "was not injured."
His Honda was impounded for a safety check, police said.
The crash is the second in Medford since yesterday that left a man in serious condition. A man riding in a car driven by an alleged drunken driver was injured just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, police said.
